Welcome to the StaRMIP Website!

StaRMIP is a French national scientific project funded for 4 years (Jan 2013 - Jan 2017) by the French National Research Agency (ANR) under the program JCJC - SIMI 6 - Earth system, environment and risks.

The main aim of this project is to study the uncertainties of statistical regionalization (or downscaling) of precipitation (PR) and temperature (T) at relatively high resolution (HR, here 0.44°x0.44°) and their hydrological impacts in the Mediterranean region.

This project gathers 3 major French research laboratories working on climate, environment, or hydrology:
  • Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l'Environnement (LSCE-IPSL)
  • Laboratoire Atmosphères, Milieux, Observations Spatiales (LATMOS-IPSL)
  • HydroSciences Montpellier (HSM)

Coordination: Dr. Mathieu Vrac (mathieu.vrac_AT_lsce.ipsl.fr)

This project is strongly linked to the CORDEX initiative (Med- and Euro-CORDEX components), the GICC REMedHE project and the European COST action VALUE.
